Speaker of Japan’s Lower House facing sexual harassment allegation

With only four weeks to go until the end of the ongoing session of parliament, opposition parties are poised to grill Hiroyuki Hosoda, speaker of the House of Representatives, over alleged sexual harassment.

The allegation, first reported by a weekly magazine, could become the first major scandal involving the administration of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida since its launch in October last year.
